NATO visits Gotland
On Tuesday 23 April, NATO military planners, under the leadership of the Joint Forces Command Brunssum, will visit the island of Gotland. The aim of the visit is to synchronize and coordinate the planning process between NATO and the Swedish Armed Forces.
NATO and Sweden (the most recent NATO ally) continue the process of practical planning necessary to ensure well aligned and capable processes and procedures and to obtain deterrence. The visit to Gotland is one of the first steps in this process.
The visit will take place on Gotland, because the island’s location makes it vital to the defence of both Sweden and NATO, in the Baltic Sea region.
Media is invited to meet Major General Mark Pullan of the Joint Forces Command Brunssum, Major General Fredrik Ståhlberg of the Swedish Joint Forces Command, and Colonel Dan Rasmussen, Commander of the Gotland Regiment.
