GlobalConnect appoints Alexander Hoffmann and Jakob Dirksen to Corporate Leadership Team

GlobalConnect today announces the appointment of Alexander Hoffmann and Jakob Dirksen to its Corporate Leadership Team (CLT), reinforcing leadership to accelerate execution of the company’s 2030 strategy.

GlobalConnect today announces the appointment of Alexander Hoffmann and Jakob Dirksen to its Corporate Leadership Team (CLT), reinforcing leadership to accelerate execution of the company’s 2030 strategy. Both are promoted from Senior Vice President roles within GlobalConnect. Alexander Hoffmann steps up from his role as SVP, Technology & IT, while Jakob Dirksen is promoted from SVP, Nordic Customer Delivery & Operations.

Alexander Hoffmann will lead a new combined Tech, IT & Security unit, while Jakob Dirksen will head the newly established Infrastructure Delivery & Operations unit. The appointments are part of a broader organizational update designed to simplify the company’s structure. Until now, teams across B2B and NetCo have been involved in building and operating the network. Going forward, GlobalConnect will establish a single Infrastructure Delivery & Operations unit, consolidating all infrastructure build and underlay delivery under one organization.

At the same time all overlay capabilities will be moved to B2B, to enable end-to-end ownership of the overlay solutions and customer value chain, including overlay delivery and customer operations. This change will sharpen B2B’s ability to develop, sell, and deliver secure end-to-end connectivity solutions that provide business continuity for our customers and partners.

Furthermore, Technology, IT and Security will be brought together and elevated to CLT level to ensure stronger alignment with the business and support key priorities such as network transformation, AI adoption and security.

“This organisational update is a natural next step in our transformation. As we scale the business and accelerate key priorities – including the growing role of AI – we are bringing related activities together under clearer ownership to strengthen execution and accountability. Against this backdrop, Alexander and Jakob are natural choices, bringing strong expertise and a proven ability to drive impact across the business,” says Martin Lippert, CEO of GlobalConnect.

Driving transformation across technology and operations
Alexander Hoffmann joined GlobalConnect in 2025 as Group Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) and SVP, bringing together IT, Technology and Engineering under one leadership structure. He has a strong background in software development, enterprise architecture and next-generation networks, and previously held leadership roles at Juniper Networks, Oracle and Acme Packet.

In his new role, he will lead the continued development of a more integrated and software-driven infrastructure platform, supporting key priorities such as IP network transformation, AI adoption, and strengthened security capabilities.

Jakob Dirksen joined GlobalConnect in August 2025 as SVP for B2B Delivery & Operations and is part of the B2B leadership team. He brings extensive experience from the telecom industry and consulting, including senior roles at TDC NET and McKinsey & Company.

He has been a central driver in the ongoing transformation of GlobalConnect’s B2B organization, aimed at making it easier to be a customer and strengthening the company’s position as a proactive partner. In his new role, he will lead the Infrastructure Delivery & Operations unit, consolidating infrastructure and underlay operations across the company.

Per Morten Torvildsen returns to the Board
As part of the changes, the current NetCo unit will be split across the new business units. Per Morten Torvildsen will step down from his role as EVP of NetCo and return to the Board of Directors at GlobalConnect, as originally planned when he joined CLT from the Board in 2023.

“We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Per Morten for his significant contributions. Over the past four years, he has played a key role in maturing GlobalConnect’s network, IT and technology foundation. Thanks to his leadership – and the strong efforts of the entire NetCo organization – we are in a significantly stronger position today than when he took on the role. As a Board member, Per Morten will remain closely connected to and continue to support the business and its ongoing development,” says Martin Lippert.

Effective from May 1
The changes will take effect from May 1, 2026.
