  • Chance to play a part in LNG Terminal in Gothenburg

    Planning of the new terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Port of Gothenburg is in full flow. During the summer, Vopak and Swedegas signed an agreement, which now also has been signed by the Port of Gothenburg. The three parties are now turning their attention to the market to investigate the level of interest in liquefied natural gas.

  • New feeder line to the Netherlands and Norway

    The Port of Gothenburg has acquired a new feeder line for containers to and from ports in the Netherlands and Norway. The service will be operated by the French container line CMA CGM and will call at the Port of Gothenburg every Friday.

  • Port of Gothenburg guided tours a success

    When the Port of Gothenburg arranged guided boat tours of the harbour during the summer, the response was overwhelming. 1,000 people took the opportunity to see the largest port in Scandinavia.

  • Rise in Swedish exports to markets outside Europe

    During the first six months of the year, the number of containers exported via the Port of Gothenburg rose by 3 per cent. This is a new volume record and a reflection of strong Swedish export volumes to markets outside Europe. Trade flows within Europe, however, continue to be weak. This is shown in the Port of Gothenburg half-yearly report presented today.

  • Hallsberg linked to the largest port in Scandinavia

    A new rail shuttle has been established between Hallsberg and the Port of Gothenburg. This will give companies in the Hallsberg region an effective link to the Port of Gothenburg's worldwide services.

  • Strong global trade flows – weaker in Europe

    Global trade flows through the Port of Gothenburg continue to increase whereas trade in Europe is falling. This was revealed in the Port of Gothenburg quarterly report published today.

  • New direct deep sea service between Sweden and China

    A new direct deep sea service to the Far East for Swedish import and export industry has been announced. The new service will include a weekly call to the Port of Gothenburg, commencing on April 18.

  • EU approves acquisition of Port of Gothenburg Ro-Ro Terminal

    Major port deal: Late yesterday afternoon, notice of approval was received from the EU Commission for the acquisition of Älvsborg Ro/Ro AB – the Ro-Ro Terminal at the Port of Gothenburg – by DFDS and C.Ro Ports. The transfer is planned for the beginning of May.
