    New Northern European shipping traffic connects to The Port of Gothenburg

    Shipping line UECC is commencing operations in the Port of Gothenburg. UECC will be transporting vehicles and other rolling cargo to and from the Central European freight hub Zeebrugge via the ports of Esbjerg and Drammen. The traffic reaches Gothenburg every week, starting this week.

    Port of Gothenburg customers increasingly satisfied

    Port of Gothenburg customers are increasingly satisfied with terminals and services at the port. This can be seen from the latest results of the Customer Satisfaction Index, a survey conducted at regular intervals at the Port of Gothenburg since 2003.

    Container transport market share increasing at the Port of Gothenburg

    Swedish container transport is increasingly concentrated to the Nordic region's largest port. The Port of Gothenburg's market share of container freight to or from Swedish ports increased by three percentage points in 2021. The port also grew in relation to the largest ports in Europe.

    New direct service between the Port of Gothenburg and the United States

    A long-awaited, unique direct connection between the port of Gothenburg and the United States starting later this March. The US is Sweden's largest export market outside Europe, and the weekly direct service will improve conditions for further growth in trade between the countries.

    New rail shuttle between the Port of Gothenburg and Rosersberg

    Green Cargo has introduced a new freight shuttle between the Port of Gothenburg and Rosersberg, north of Stockholm, which strengthens the conditions for further growth. Departing six times a week, the shuttle transports paper products and other goods from Rosersberg to the Port of Gothenburg, for onward transit to France and the United Kingdom.

    Port of Gothenburg rail traffic at an all-time high

    The increase in rail traffic looks set to continue at the Port of Gothenburg with a new record for rail-borne freight passing through the port. Some 458,000 TEUs were handled during 2021 – the highest annual figure in the port’s 400-year history.

    The volume report recently published by the Port of Gothenburg reveals record-breaking container figures for November. All the more significant in a year marked by a host of unprecedented events, including the accidental blocking of the Suez Canal and the Covid-19 pandemic, which continues to hold the world in its grip.

    Environment and efficiency benefits with new vessel on Gothenburg-Zeebrugge route

    On Monday morning, shipping company CLdN's newly built vessel made her first call at the Port of Gothenburg. Faustine is the company's most advanced vessel and can be operated on liquefied natural gas or biogas. Now she will deploy the route between the Port of Gothenburg and Zeebrugge. Today, the ship will reach Zeebrugge loaded with Swedish export goods for the first time.

    In a concerted effort to incentivise haulage companies to increase the proportion of emission-free trucks more rapidly, two terminal operators at the Port of Gothenburg join forces as part of a new project named “Green Priority”. The purpose is to reduce the threshold for the greening of the haulage companies’ vehicle fleets.
