  • The Largest Port Expansion in 40 Years Opens at the Port of Gothenburg

    Today, a brand new 144,000 square meter port terminal was inaugurated at the Port of Gothenburg. The investment, amounting to approximately 60 million EUR, has been under construction for the past six years and was made to meet the increased transportation needs of Swedish industry.

  • The Port of Gothenburg and Castellum to develop the first 45,000 sqm in new joint venture logistics park

    The Port of Gothenburg and Castellum are jointly developing a fully leased, efficient, and sustainable logistics facility in a prime location at Halvorsäng, just north of the port’s terminals. Construction is set to begin in the fall of 2024. The tenant is the medical technology company OneMed, which plans to move in by 2026. The total investment for the joint venture is over 50 million EUR.

  • Sweden-Belgium Green Shipping Corridor welcomes new partner and expands green ambitions

    Port of Gothenburg, North Sea Port, and DFDS welcome Port of Antwerp-Bruges to the Green Shipping Corridor and bolsters the green ambitions of the project. By 2030, two ammonia-fuelled ro-ro vessels are expected to operate on the routes between Sweden and Belgium, and the ports will step up efforts on electrification and ammonia bunkering.

  • The Port of Gothenburg Seeks Car Terminal Operator

    Logent Ports and Terminals has successfully operated the Port of Gothenburg car terminal at since 2011, but the contract is set to expire in 2026. The Gothenburg Port Authority has now initiated the process of procuring a future terminal operator in Sweden's largest car port.

The quay reinforcement and fairway deepening project, which has been on the port's planning table for over ten years, means that the port further strengthens the possibilities to serve Swedish export and import industries.

    The Gothenburg region tops the list in Swedish industry magazine Intelligent Logistics' annual ranking of Sweden's best logistics locations. As Sweden's largest freight hub, the Port of Gothenburg plays a crucial role in the award, which has been presented since 2001. It is the 23rd time that the Gothenburg region has topped the list.
