  • Green Cargo has transported freight for St1 for 25 years

    A partnership where the focus on high quality and secure transportation has resulted in almost 11,000,000 tonnes of freight being delivered from St1 in Gothenburg to depots in Jönköping and Karlstad. Through 25 years of rail transportation rather than road or sea freight, St1 and Green Cargo have reduced climate impact by a total of 114,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Green Cargo has been able to meet Holmen’s requirements for extra trains thanks to its customer adaptability and solution-oriented approach.

  • First train arrives at Stockholm Norvik Port

    The first scheduled freight train is now in service on the industrial track to the new freight port, Stockholm Norvik Port. Ports of Stockholm built the railway line, which will enable more sustainable transportation and expands the different transportation alternatives to and from the port.

  • Unique rail collaboration to secure the food industry’s supply chain

    ICA will use the Volvo Group’s freight train to transport goods. Normally, south-bound trains operated by Green Cargo transport Volvo’s freight from Sweden to the factory in the Belgian city of Gent. For the last six years, the Swedish logistics company Scanlog has used north-bound trains to transport cargo such as food for ICA, the train has not run since Volvo’s truck factory in Gent closed.

  • Green Cargo’s transportation of modules reduces Expandia’s emissions

    From January this year, Green Cargo will transport parts of Expandia’s modular fleet. The initiative is part of the temporary premises module supplier fulfilling its environmental goals, and a secure, reliable and climate-smart rail-based logistics solution was chosen.

    Green Cargo invests in another six Transmontana Co-Co locomotives. The Co-Co locomotives can pull about twice as much as a conventional RC locomotive and will be delivered in autumn 2019.

  • Partnering for more efficient infrastructure

    For many years now, Green Cargo and Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems have worked on the transportation of material for switches and complete railway switches. ​“We aim to increase our internal transportation by rail to 20 percent in 2017 and then gradually increase year by year,” says Janne Nilsson, Transport Manager at Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems.

  • ​Ovako extends logistics contract with Green Cargo

    Green Cargo and Ovako have extended the shuttle agreements for Smeboxpendeln and Hälleforspendeln for an additional three years. With five cycles a week throughout the year, steel materials are transported in one direction and scrap in the other for recycling in production.
