Bavaria Broadens Portfolio with BMW Motorcycles in Stavanger, Norway

Since 1996, Bavaria has experienced great success as a BMW and MINI dealership in Norway and Sweden. The company has now signed an agreement with BMW, which makes Bavaria Stavanger the only combined BMW car and motorcycle dealer in the Nordic region.

- We are both delighted and proud. The only combined BMW dealership in the Nordics is located in Stavanger. BMW Motorrad is a great addition and a natural extension of our existing operations. We are now gearing up for a completely new customer group that we will serve in the best possible way, says Hallvard Vikeså, CEO of Bavaria Norway.

A delegation from BMW Motorrad in the BMW Group Northern Europe recently visited Stavanger to evaluate several possible representatives for the brand in the area. The expansion is an important milestone in Bavaria's strong growth ambitions and builds on the company's solid alliance with BMW.

- We chose Bavaria on grounds of their professionalism, the prime location and the premium facilities. Their ambitious business plan is fully in line with our vison and expectations. Above all however, we are convinced that the passion and commitment in Bavaria will greatly contribute to our joint success. BMW Motorrad will now be allocated dedicated resources to focus 100% on motorcycles, while the business will be fully integrated into the operation of the rest of the dealership, says Carlos Cabrera, CEO of BMW Motorrad in BMW Group Northern Europe.

Building brick by brick

The general manager of Bavaria Stavanger, Jone Hana, hopes that BMW Motorrad will be a significant part of the operation in the future.

- We aim to start with motorcycles in spring 2022 and have already started the search for enthusiastic and dedicated employees who will build our motorcycle business brick by brick. With the new business area, we will reach out both to new customer groups as well as to our loyal customers, says Hana.

Bavaria will offer new and used BMW motorcycles in Stavanger, and will also invest heavily in MC accessories and clothing.

- As a full-service provider, we will be an experience center for motorcycle enthusiasts in the entire district. Not only will we exhibit the entire product portfolio of BMW, but we will also be a professional service partner with knowledge, competence, and high capacity. To top it off, we will offer Norway's coolest winter storage of motorcycles in our showroom on our top floor. The goal is to take the customer experience to the next level, Hana continues.

The workshop is important for customer satisfaction, and the logistics in Stavanger are well adapted to motorcyclists. Customers drive straight into a large and bright indoor reception hall sheltered from the Stavanger-weather which is notoriously wet. In addition to modern and quiet areas where customers can work while the motorcycle is in service, Bavaria also offers meeting room facilities.

- We focus fully on customer experience at all levels. Motorcyclists will notice this even before they turn off the ignition, says Hana.

Unparalleled success through 25 years

Bavaria opened its doors for the first time in Stavanger 25 years ago, and has played a central role in the Norwegian automotive history. From a single car dealer In Stavanger, the company has grown into one of the largest BMW partners in Europe with more than 1,000 employees in Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The company is part of Norwegian Hedin Automotive; a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish giant Hedin Bil AB with headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Great Place to Work

Bavaria has long had a clear culture strategy that forms the basis for all decisions and improvement work in the group. As a results, the company was recently certified as a Great Place to Work company for the fifth time in a row.

- When we now look to hire new employees, it is incredibly important for us that they are ambassadors for our corporate values. We have had an expansive growth and have undergone major changes, but have always worked purposefully to continue the strong Bavaria culture. It has undoubtedly been a major driver in our development, and it will continue to be so in the future. The ambition is clear: We will be the industry's best employer to attract the smartest people, and thus get even more satisfied customers, Vikeså concludes.
