PRECIS and ICCO launch NextGen Sweden

Sweden now has a new platform for future communication leaders. The global network ICCO NextGen is being established in Sweden in collaboration with the industry association PRECIS, with the goal of bringing together and strengthening professionals under 35 years of age in PR, public affairs and strategic communication.

ICCO NextGen is part of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) and is represented in several countries worldwide. The network brings together young talents who want to develop their leadership, build international relationships and contribute to a more innovative and sustainable communications industry.

– The establishment of ICCO NextGen Sweden is an important step in giving young communication consultants a stronger platform – both nationally and internationally. Together with ICCO NextGen Sweden, we want to create opportunities for the next generation to be involved and influence the future of the industry and drive innovation, says Anna-Karin Hedlund, Secretary General at PRECIS.

The establishment now creates a national meeting place for young talents in PR, public affairs and strategic communication. The Swedish group will arrange networking meetings, mentoring programs and knowledge events, and act as a bridge between PRECIS and the international ICCO network for young people.

Dan Vesterberg, consultant at Geelmuyden Kiese, is one of the driving forces behind the initiative and will hold the work together in Sweden. Together with colleague Walter Westerlund, he won gold in the 2025 ICCO NextGen PR World Cup with the entry The Last Resort, which also earned them a place on the global ICCO NextGen board – where they now continue to develop and scale the initiative internationally.

– We are starting ICCO NextGen Sweden to build something that actually makes a difference for young professionals. We know how important it is to have the right forum to grow and enter the industry in a good way. There is enormous power in belonging to a network where we can learn from each other and develop together, says Dan Vesterberg, consultant at Geelmuyden Kiese and member of ICCO's global NextGen board.
