DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER Austria is now officially named JYSK

On 1 October 2020, all DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER stores in Austria changed name to JYSK. The name change and introduction of JYSK’s new store concept will benefit customers in Austria.

Only a few weeks after the plans of changing the name in Austria from DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER to JYSK were announced, the name change has now been completed in all 87 stores as of 1 October 2020.

”By changing the name to JYSK, the Austrian stores will now also benefit from the store concepts and systems that worldwide have led to JYSK’s success. This will be great for both our customers as well as for our employees,” says Jan Bøgh, CEO & President in JYSK.

The name of JYSK

The name JYSK is a Danish word for a person, who originates from the peninsula of Jutland in Denmark. A person from Jutland is known as “jysk”, which is associated with hard work, a down-to-earth attitude and reliability, which are some of the values that define the family-owned company.

JYSK will invest around 200,000 euros in each of the 87 stores in Austria to introduce the new store concept 3.0, which includes woodlook floor instead of carpet, inspiring showrooms and more focus on deco and textiles.

JYSK is planning to expand with three new stores in Austria during the financial year 2020/21 (1 September 2020 – 31 August 2021), and more new stores will follow in the upcoming years.

After having changed the name of the stores in Austria, only the stores in Germany still carry the DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER logo.
