JYSK celebrates the opening of store 3,000

With a small delay, JYSK celebrates the opening of store number 3,000 in Rome, Italy.

While retail stores across Europe have been opening and closing due to the coronavirus pandemic, JYSK has continued to expand with new stores.

On 12 February 2021, JYSK opened the doors to the company’s store number 3,000, which is located in the Da Vinci Village in Fiumicino, which is the biggest retail park in Italy.

Due to the pandemic, the grand opening was postponed, but now JYSK is ready to celebrate, and on 18 May, JYSK will “re-open” the store in the way that it deserves.

“Expansion has always been the foundation of JYSK, and we are really happy that we have now reached more than 3,000 stores worldwide. That is a very important milestone, which we have been looking forward to celebrating with our Italian customers and colleagues,” says Executive Vice President Retail in JYSK, Mikael Nielsen.

Together with the Country Manager of JYSK Italy, Cesare Bailo, he will participate in the re-opening of store number 3,000 in Rome and personally welcome the first customers of the day.

Stores are important

And even while store number 3,000 is celebrated, JYSK continues the company’s efforts to expand further and reach at least 5,000 stores, as the late founder of JYSK, Lars Larsen, pointed towards when JYSK reached 2,500 stores in 2017.

“In JYSK, we still believe that physical stores play a big role in modern retail, and we plan to open more than 200 new stores every year, with Italy being one of the countries that we want to put special focus on,” says Mikael Nielsen.

A great honour

This is something that Country Manager of JYSK Italy, Cesare Bailo, is very happy with.

“In recent years, JYSK Italy has made a number of changes, which includes making the assortment more Scandinavian, offering new services and making a plan for updating all stores to the newest JYSK concept before the end of 2024. This has been very popular with our customers, and I am sure that all of the 300 new JYSK stores that we plan to open in Italy will be very successful,” says Cesare Bailo.
