JYSK expands to Cyprus
In the spring of 2027, the home furnishing chain JYSK plans to open its first stores in Cyprus.
Ever since the Danish tradesman Lars Larsen opened the doors to his first store in 1979, the family-owned home furnishing chain JYSK has been growing.
Now it's time to expand to the Mediterranean, more specifically the island state of Cyprus, where JYSK will open its first stores in the spring of 2027. Initially, JYSK expects to welcome customers in two to four stores, and in the longer term, the goal is to open a total of ten stores within the next few years – all in the Republic of Cyprus and as part of the Greek organisation at JYSK.
"Expansion is part of JYSK's DNA, so we are always looking for growth, and we know that when you get a great offer, you have to go for it. We believe that JYSK will stand out positively, and we are convinced that our great offers within Scandinavian home furnishing will also be attractive to customers in Cyprus, just as they are in the rest of Europe," says Rami Jensen, President & CEO of JYSK.
A great offer in Cyprus
With the expansion to Cyprus, JYSK expects to create up to 80 local jobs, which organisationally will become part of JYSK Greece. The recruitment of the first District Manager is already underway, and so far the position has aroused the interest of almost 100 applicants.
"We are proud of the interest that already exists in Cyprus to work at JYSK. Cyprus is an interesting market with good opportunities to expand through our organisation in Greece, where we already have close to 70 stores with good growth and a well-established organisation that is ready to welcome new colleagues," says Rami Jensen.
The latest country JYSK opened stores in was Morocco, where two stores opened their doors in April 2025. With the opening in Cyprus, JYSK will be present in 50 countries. 30 with their own stores, while the remaining 20 are run by local franchisees.
