JYSK installs its biggest solar panel farm at distribution centre in Poland

With nearly 4,000 solar panels, JYSK’s distribution centre in Radomsko, Poland, now produces up to 30% of its own electricity with renewable sources, supporting the company’s goal to reduce CO₂ emissions.

JYSK’s distribution centre in Radomsko in central Poland is now the largest of the company’s solar panel farms. The installation is the first to be registered as a producer of renewable energy.

Any surplus energy is fed back into the power grid.

“With this investment, we are not only increasing the energy independence of our distribution centre but also making a contribution to reducing our CO₂ emissions. We are proud that we have joined the list of distribution centres generating renewable energy,” says Natalia Swoboda, Logistics Director of JYSK’s distribution centre in Radomsko.

The list of distribution centres with solar panels now entails six with two more coming when the distribution centres open in Lelystad and Almenara.

The solar panel farm in Radomsko is another example of JYSK’s commitment to investments in renewable energy, in line with the company’s sustainability strategy.

In October 2024, JYSK launched its sustainability strategy, "A great offer for generations", at the same time as the company had its climate targets approved by the internationally recognised Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

JYSK has, among other commitments, pledged to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4% by FY32, with FY22 as the baseline.
