Amanda Rydenstam appointed new Creative Director at Liseberg
Liseberg has appointed Amanda Rydenstam as its new Creative Director. Succeeding David Schofield, who has shaped the destination’s creative identity for more than 30 years, she will play a key role in the continued development of the Liseberg destination and its future guest experiences.
The appointment marks a generational transition in Liseberg’s creative leadership following David Schofield’s more than three decades as Creative Director. Amanda Rydenstam will assume her new role on 28th of September and brings extensive experience in creative leadership, concept development and experience design, as well as a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects and creating compelling narratives in physical environments. In her new position, she will be responsible for guiding the continued evolution of Liseberg’s creative vision.
- We were looking for a person who could combine strategic thinking with creative excellence, while understanding the complex demands of a modern destination. In Amanda, we have found a leader capable of carrying forward Liseberg’s strong artistic and architectural heritage while bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas, says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg group.
Amanda joins Liseberg from her role as Creative Director at Okidoki Architects. She holds a Architecture degree from Chalmers University of Technology and has also studied spacial design and art history.
As Creative Director, Amanda Rydenstam will have overall responsibility for developing and safeguarding Liseberg’s creative direction. Her remit spans the entire destination, including the amusement park, accommodation offerings, water park, restaurants, seasonal concepts and future development projects.
- Liseberg has a remarkable creative legacy that I greatly admire. I’m excited to build on what has made Liseberg such a success, while exploring new ways to create experiences for future generations of guests, says Amanda Rydenstam.
To ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity in the creative development of the destination, David Schofield will remain with the organisation as Senior Advisor during a transition period.
