SIAM PARK THE FIRST WATER PARK TO RECEIVE THE APPLAUSE AWARD

Biannually, since 1980, the prestigious Applause Award honours a park whose management, operations and creative accomplishments have inspired the industry with foresight, originality and sound business development.

In 2024, two major changes has been made to the award:

First, the award will from 2024 transition to becoming an annual award, instead of being handed out every second year.

Second, the scope of the award will be broadened to include other types of attractions – for example water parks, zoos, and resorts – that meet the award criteria.

The 2024 Applause Award winner is Siam Park, Tenerife, Spain:

“With an original and creative vision, the Kiessling family has created an outstanding water park destination with Siam Park, says Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, President and CEO, Liseberg Group and Chairman of The Applause Award Board of Governors. “The park is combining exceptional experiences, immaculate operations and innovative sustainability-solutions into a park, that for many years has been voted the number one water park in the world.”

The Applause Award Board of Governors has selected Siam Park to join the prestigious list of winners as the first ever water park.

The Applause Award was presented March 3, 2024 in Las Vegas, USA, as part of the IAAPA Honors ceremony celebrating attractions industry innovation, creativity, and excellence.
