Executive Committee on International Women's Day: Erik Ploegmakers

We’re wrapping up on our International Women’s Day celebrations this week.

Today, hear from Erik Ploegmakers, managing director at Fox-IT, on which woman inspires him the most and why.

“As a fanatical amateur musician, I’m much inspired by Rosetta Tharpe. She is probably one of the most important and influential musicians in American history.

“Her use of distortion and her guitar technique was revolutionary, and everyone form Chuck Berry to Elvis and Johnny Cash cited her as a major influence.

“She stands out, in an artistic field crowded by white men, as a truly radical and important artist. She was belatedly admitted to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, though through a popular vote rather than by the institution.”

This series will be ending later today where you will hear from our CEO, Adam Palser, on the women that inspire him.
