Russian interest in ocean drones - the Glider project goes abroad

The GLIDER project, led by Akvaplan-niva was presented and met with great interest at two different events in Russia this year, the NORWEP Gazprom workshop during Offshore Marintec Russia 2018 in St. Petersburg in October and an event arranged by Rosneft in Murmansk in July.

Akvaplan-niva presented the GLIDER project at the Special Session on Developing the Resources of the Arctic Continental Shelf. The session was hosted by Gazprom and Norwegian Energy Partners. Also, in July this year, the GLIDER project was presented at the International conference 'Key challenges in HSE during implementation of geological exploration projects offshore and the ways to solve them' arranged by Rosneft in Murmansk. Alexei Bambulyak, Regional Manager Russia & Eastern Europe at Akvaplan-niva, took part in both conferences and gave presentations about Akvaplan-niva's marine environment monitoring experiences in general and the GLIDER project in particular.
