About Osaka’s Life Sciences Industry
Osaka has three life science hubs: Saito, where drug discovery companies gather; Kento, which has two national research institutes and is centered on health and healthcare; and Nakanoshima Qross, an international hub for future medicine based on regenerative medicine.
In Osaka, in order to connect these three hubs and further develop the health and medical related industries, the Osaka Bio Headquarters, whose secretariat is the Osaka Prefecture, is building a network of industry, academia, and government within the prefecture.

Osaka Prefecture will be promoting the potential of Osaka's life science industry to the world through participation in two international exhibitions in June: "BIO International Convention" in the United States and "Japan Health" in Osaka.
"BIO International Convention"
Dates: June 16th (Mon) - 19th (Thu), 2025 Venue: Boston Convention & Exhibition Center Booth number: 3648
This exhibition will be held in Boston, a global biotech cluster city, and will bring together people involved in life science from all over the world.
In cooperation with Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster, which is also in the Kansai region, Osaka Prefecture will set up a booth to promote the attractions and strengths of the Kansai life science field, aiming to attract overseas businesses to the prefecture's life science hubs and to increase awareness and brand power overseas.
This is an initiative that has never been undertaken by a Japanese local government, and it shows that Osaka and Kansai are leading the Japanese life science industry.
