Projectplace grows by 100 000 users in 2010

Recently Projectplace, the European leader in online project collaboration, hit a milestone of 600 000 registered users. The increase in user numbers accounts for an uptick of 100,000 during the last year.

In November 2009, the landmark of half a million users was reached since the online tool’s inception in 1998. Due to impressive European growth and a profoundly strengthened sales and marketing organisation, the customer base has continued to surge by a staggering 20 percent during the year 2010.

“We now see the outcome of our new sales organisation and the extensive investments we have done in our marketing operations strategy,” says Pelle Hjortblad, CEO Projectplace International.

Every week, several thousands of new users sign up for online project collaboration tools provided by Projectplace. Among these customers are CapGemini, Deutsche Post DHL, Electrolux, E.O.N, Manpower, NCC, Price WaterhouseCoopers, Samsung, Sony Music, and Vodafone to name but a few.

“The cloud market is more mature and customers are increasingly less concerned over using a service on the Web,” says Pelle Hjortblad, CEO Projectplace International. “Now we can really focus on the social and collaborating aspects of project management and continue to improve the user experience for both existing and new customers.”

Among many improvements lately, a social tool for team conversations has now been integrated into the project overview as well as in the application Projectplace for iPhone. Projectplace also launched a manifesto this year, outlining its support and beliefs in Social Project Management, as it promotes collaboration as the major success factor for projects. Many features we incorporate are ideas originating from the customers themselves, suggested to the company in our customer ideas forum.

“Projectplace is easy to operate and completely intuitive,” says Alexander Gottschlich, Global Programme Manager at Vodafone. “The software helps enormously in cutting down on travel time and costs. Coordination is much faster with online meetings. Project team members can talk to each other without having to meet face-to-face. This greatly reduces misunderstandings.”
