Delightfully spooky: Halloween craft ideas for your schleich® characters
Each day is shorter and chillier than the one before, the ground is covered in leaves, and all the families are indulging in plenty of tea and biscuits? No doubt: autumn is here! And this means that Halloween is just around the corner. We have put together some fun craft activities to make the 31st of October delightfully spooky for you. In the spotlight: your schleich® characters. The giraffe is dressed up as a mummy, the frightening ELDRADOR® CREATURES and the DINOSAURS are having a great time, too. As well as imaginative play, schleich® figurines are perfect for creative activities.
Haunted-house windows
Dim light and sinister silhouettes conjure up the perfect Halloween atmosphere. Here’s how to turn your window sill into a haunted eye-catcher. Firstly, get a grown-up to help you cut a window out of a shoebox lid with a cutter. Now, paint the window frame black and seal the window with tracing paper from the inside. Glue a string of fairy lights to the inner edge of the window. The stage is set! Place the Shadow Bat and the Tyrannosaurus Rex behind the window. Their scary silhouettes are certain to make passers-by jump. To decorate your window further, cut out some cardboard ghosts, pumpkins or cobwebs – what else can you think of?
Creepy decorative bowl
Pumpkins, tealights and animal figurines in their Halloween costumes: this bowl is a perfect centerpiece for your dinner table. To make the base, simply place pumpkins, chestnuts and other natural materials on a plate or flat bowl, along with some tealights. Now it’s time to get creative. Is the giraffe dressed up as a mummy? Has the cow donned her witch hat? Does the sloth have a pumpkin on his head? What Halloween costumes will you make for your animal figures? Let your imagination run free and create your very own creepy bowl!
Ghostly garland
Craft a ghostly garland to welcome trick-and-treaters in style on Halloween night. Firstly, find a stick in the garden and paint it black. While the paint dries, prepare the garlands: attach a few schleich® characters and some cardboard cut-outs (for example, ghosts, cats or witch hats) to strings, ideally between three and five. Tie them to the stick – all done! Enjoy your garland.
These craft activities are creative ways to fill a gloomy autumn afternoon and get everyone in the mood for Halloween. And after the big night, the schleich® figurines get to move into the children’s playroom.
