The 2020 Children's Climate Prize kicks off

This year, the Children's Climate Prize will be awarded for the fifth time. What began in 2016 with the intention of raising young people's voices in the climate debate has today become an established platform for climate engaged youth from all over the world. The fifth anniversary kicks off with the launch of a brand-new website that focuses more on the young laureates and previous participants over the years.

Climate change is taking place around us, and young people around the world are putting sustainability issues on the agenda. They are bringing new ideas to the table, they are inventing new solutions that propel sustainable development, and they are raising their voices in demonstrations that gather millions. This year, the Children’s Climate Prize aims more than ever to give these young people an arena for meeting, disseminating knowledge, sharing experiences and networking.

The website is a natural extension of the Children's Climate Prize, which is awarded in November every year. Youth’s from all over the world gather to participate in the seminar Children’s Climate TALKS and attend the gala at Stockholm City Hall. Young people who have made extraordinary contributions to the climate in different areas are recognized. This year's nomination period opens in May.

About the Children’s Climate Prize
The Children’s Climate Prize was initiated by the Swedish energy company Telge Energi. In 2019, the category Clean Air was added in collaboration with Swedish Blueair, a world leader in air purification. Finalists and winners are chosen by an independent jury headed by Johan Kuylenstierna. Visit www.ccprize.org to read more.
