International film festival TourFilm

The 47th anniversary of the oldest film festival of tourism films in the world will be held this year October 9 to 11, 2014 at the Thermal Hotel and the Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary. The partner country of this year's festival will be Morocco - The Pearl of Arabia. In the context of discussions visitors will also take a look at the significantly colder Alaska as well as learn about sexual taboos across continents. The program this year is again free for all visitors.

TourFilm, hosted by the Czech Tourism Authority, will once again highlight the best commercials, movies and internet presentations that assist in the development of international tourism. For the twenty-first time the Czech festival of tourism films and commercials, which aims to attract tourists to the beauty of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, will also take place - Tour Region Film. This year a record number of frames were registered in the Tourfilm competition, in which movies and commercials from around the world will compete for the main prize. Just under 500 films and commercials and 163 multimedia productions had to be viewed by an expert panel that awards the first three places in each category as well as the big "Grand Prix". 64 films, 35 commercials and 30 multimedia productions shall compete for prizes under the Tour Region Film competition. The festival is traditionally supplemented by a presentation of Tourmap tourist maps and guides. Visitors will be able to view them in the Thermal hotel.

Moroccan desert on a motorcycle, with a singer and in the film

The partner country of this year's festival will be Morocco, which will be viewed from all angles, through the film camera as well as a normal camera. The actor Martin Zounar, who discovered exotic Morocco on a motorcycle together with the singers Václav Noid Bárta and Lou Fanánek Hagen in 2009, takes visitors across the Moroccan desert on powerful machines. The photographer and traveler Jiří Kolbaba acquaints listeners with the specifics of shooting in the Moroccan desert, while the director Marie Poledňáková speaks on and how the film You Kiss Like the Devil (Líbáš jako ďábel) was shot in Morocco. A less traditional view of the North African country will be provided by the singer Linda Finková, whose work mostly includes musicals.

Friday day, which introduces this exotic location, is prepared in cooperation with the Moroccan National Tourist Office and The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The substantially "colder" part of the narration will be delivered by the actor and presenter Aleš Háma, along with others, who will share his experiences with fishing in the wild of Alaska, while world travelerMiroslav Zikmund will be introduced by Petr Horký. The sexologist Radim Uzel will reveal the sex secrets across continents to listeners, including what sexual taboos occur in the European and non-European world. The accompanying program takes visitors into the extreme conditions of Afghanistan, on the road with the world-famous pair Zikmund and Hanzelka and fans will not be deprived of the traveler guru Miloslav Stingl, honorary chief of the Kickapoo tribe. Jana Bürger, together with the guest of honor of the festival - the Queen of Easter Island Taurama Hey Rapu - will reveal the secrets of this unique island in Polynesia and the Czech Republic will also be discussed - this time as a country with a rich history of film.

At the bottom of the ocean with the Australian diver David Hannan

The main star of this 47th anniversary of the festival will be the Australian filmmaker, artist and conservationist David Hannan. His films shot with a special technique below sea level have picked up a number of awards in recent years. The Emmy award winner works mainly in tropical areas and in temperate waters around Australia, Antarctica, the Philippines, Borneo and the Cook Islands.

Hannan, who dove for the first time at the age of 11, first explained the method of coral spawning and his documentary on the reproduction of coral and the subsequent formation of coral reefs was the first documentary in the world, which mapped out this topic. Hannan works with the television broadcasters BBC, Discovery and National Geographic. His production company creates educational and documentary films of the underwater world.
