The 47th anniversary of the oldest film festival of tourism films in the world will be held this year October 9 to 11, 2014 at the Thermal Hotel and the Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary. The partner country of this year's festival will be Morocco - The Pearl of Arabia.
Prague is known for its fantastic Christmas markets and shopping opportunities, but the city has much more to offer in December. On an extended weekend in Prague, you can, among others, experience Europe's largest manger scene, classical ballet, ice skating and you can see how bears celebrate Christmas.
Masopust (Mardi Gras), fašank or carnival – these are names for one event: exuberant celebrations inspired by the carnival in Venice and local folklore traditions. In the past, the main objective was to have fun and eat well before never-ending Lent, which lasted for 30 days. However, this is not very typical currently but fun and feasting have survived until nowadays.

The Czech capital found itself among very noble company in the ranking of the 10 most attractive places for celebrating the New Year by the prestigious tourist server Gajet. Prague placed fourth after Las Vegas, Savannah and the Niagara Falls, thus giving it the highest rank in all of Europe.
The sound of clinking glasses to the toast, flamboyant celebrations with friends and magnificent fireworks are just some of the many delights the Czech Republic has to offer to its visitors coming to celebrate the end of the year.
