Drottningholms Slottsteater proudly presents one of the world's greatest mezzo-sopranos, Sweden's very own Anne Sofie von Otter, joined by one of the most promising sopranos of the younger generation Elin Rombo in a programme of late 18th century arias and duets by J C F Bach, Gluck, and Telemann - framed by a Mozart symphony.
In addition the the well-known summer opera productions the Drottningholm Court Theatre arranges numerous entertaining and educational activities within their Esprit! program, such as concerts by popular and prominent soloists Anne Sofie von Otter, Elin Rombo and the young Russian star Julia Lezhneva, but also a magical family show, The Magic Flute and opera introductions.
Drottningholms Slottsteater hosts one of the highlights of the Baltic Sea Festival in August. Through a partnership with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozart's The Magic Flute will be presented in a fully staged performance created by director Daniel Harding and tenor Andrew Staples. This production was previously presented at the prestigious Lucerne festival in Switzerland.

Uppsättningen är utarbetad av orkesterns chefsdirigent Daniel Harding och tenoren Andrew Staples, och har tidigare framförts på den prestigefyllda Lucernefestivalen i Schweiz.
This year's opera festival at the Drottningholm Court Theatre, outside Stockholm, offers two new opera productions as well as many exciting events, performances and concerts. The two opera productions the coming season are "Il matrimonio segreto" (1792) by Domenico Cimarosa and W.A. Mozart's "La Clemenza di Tito" (1791).
The Drottningholm Court Theatre is participating in the Baltic Sea Festival, this year held August 23-30, as a part of a new collaboration between the concert hall Berwaldhallen and the festival. Sofi Lerström, CEO of Drottningholm Court Theatre, will present the coming projects at the launch breakfast for the Baltic Sea Festival on March 15, at Berwaldhallen concert hall in Stockholm.

I Musik special på SVT2 lördagen den 16 mars klockan 19.00, presenteras förra årets bästa operor av Covent Gardens nye chef, dansken Kasper Holten. Holten guidar tittarna mellan spektakulära klassiker och annorlunda tolkningar, bland annat Drottningholms slottsteaters omtalade uppsättning av Orlando paladino i regi av Sigrid T'Hooft.
Drottningholm Court Theatre's set designer Ann-Margret Fyregård has been awarded HM The King's Carl XVI Gustaf's Medal of the 8th size of the bright-blue ribbon, for outstanding contributions as a costume and set designer. The medal was awarded at a ceremony in Queen Lovisa Ulrika's dining room at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, on February 7th 2013.
Drottningholms slottsteaters scenograf Ann-Margret Fyregård har tilldelats H M Konungens medalj av 8:e storleken i högblått band, för framstående insatser som kostymtecknare och scenograf. Medaljen delades ut vid en ceremoni i Lovisa Ulrikas matsal på Kungliga slottet den 7 februari 2013.
