Bamse goes global – beloved Swedish comics character launches new educational adventure game in English
After its success in Sweden, the educational platform game Bamse’s Adventure: The Wand Mystery is now being released worldwide. Developed by the award-winning Swedish game studio Gro Play in collaboration with Story House Egmont, the game invites children aged 4–8 to join the world’s kindest and strongest bear on a colorful, learning-filled adventure.
Bamse is one of Scandinavia’s most beloved and well-known children’s characters. Known for being “the strongest and kindest bear in the world”, Bamse has entertained generations through comics, magazines, books, films, and television. Now, his adventurous world expands further into the digital space, globally.
"We are excited to share Bamse with children and families worldwide. The game has been warmly received in Sweden, and the global version gives a whole new audience the chance to experience Bamse’s warmth, humour, and values", says Gitte Nørgaard Grytli, Creative Development Director at Story House Egmont, which owns and manages the rights to the Bamse brand.
In Bamse’s Adventure: The Wand Mystery, players help Bamse and his friends solve the mystery of magic wands that have come to life and caused chaos in the village. Across 45 levels filled with moving platforms, puzzles, and enchanted challenges, children are encouraged to read, count, and think critically – all while playing and having fun.
A safe and joyful gaming experience for families
The game provides a safe, ad-free environment where learning and play go hand in hand. New levels and stories are planned for future updates, allowing the adventure to grow over time.
"Bringing Bamse to a global audience is something truly special for us. His universe carries values that are both timeless and universal – friendship, helpfulness, and kindness – and we believe they resonate with children everywhere. Our ambition with the Bamse’s Adventure game is to let kids around the world experience the same magic that generations of Swedish children have grown up with", says Kristian Lundquist, CEO of Gro Play.
