Halda Race Pilot – With an Engine by Zenith

Passion for mechanical movements is the heart of Halda Watch Co. This is reflected in the Race Pilot’s Mechanical Module, which is an extension serving to satisfy the needs of the watch connoisseur as well as it celebrates our history of fine watch making.

The mechanical module of the Halda Race Pilot combines the best of two worlds; its design has many details where inspiration has been drawn from the world of racing, plus it is equipped with one of the best engines to be found – a movement by Zenith SA.

Due to the non-compromising foundation on which Halda was established, we live by the rule that only the best is good enough. That is why we would never settle for a movement that does not live up to our standards, and that is why the Race Pilot has a movement by one of the best manufacturers in the world. The caliber 685 from Zenith is self-winding featuring a Power Reserve indicator, decorated with Côtes de Genève and Clous de Paris, and fitted with a specially designed rotor in heavy metal. This beautiful movement can be seen through a crystal case-back that has a magnifying effect. The Race Pilot will be available in three different versions – Silver Geneva, Gun Metal Geneva and the Black Luminova.

About Halda Watch Company

Halda Watch Company was founded in 1887 by Swedish watch-maker Henning Hammarlund. It quickly became a worldwide success known for its advanced fine mechanics and quality.
Halda watches featured on prominent people such as HMK Oscar II and renowned Swedish writer August Strindberg and the watches were also honoured with several international awards in competition with the very best watch producers at that time. In 2009, Halda Watch Company was brought back to life by watch entrepreneur Mikael Sandström, through the  introduction of the concept and plans for the modern Halda – the Halda Space Discovery Limited Edition, first released on the market in 2011.

The Haldas of the 21st century follows the devise of its founding father, Henning Hammarlund – to never compromise with quality or function. For its’ manifestation of advanced and pioneering technical engineering and fine mechanics, the Halda Space Discovery was honoured with a placement in the Swedish pavilion at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. In 2011, it featured as part of the exhibition ‘NASA – A Human Adventure’, world premiering at National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm. In 2012, the Halda Space Discovery received the Red Dot Design Award one of the most prestigious design awards one can ever get, often referred to as the ‘Nobel Prize of Design’.

Halda expands the cooperation with Bergström’s Ur

Late last year, we presented the news that Halda is available at Bergström’s Ur in Malmö. Now we are pleased to inform that the cooperation has expanded and the Halda Space Discovery now also is available in Bergström’s boutique in Gothenburg, located at Östra Hamngatan 43 on the famous Avenyn.

The process of hand-picking premium resellers for Halda watches continues. The latest cooperation connects Halda to a greater coverage of the domestic market with another boutique among the most prominent retailers of exclusive timepieces in Sweden.

Halda Space Discovery collects the prestigious Red Dot Award

As previously announced the Halda Space Discovery limited edition received the Red Dot Design Award this year. On July 2nd representatives from Halda Watch Co collected the award – often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Design, at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany. We are proud to be among other winning brands such as Porsche, Apple, Philips and BMW.

On February 3rd, we had the honor of presenting our new ambassador with his very own Halda timepiece. During a press conference covered by live television and press Marcus Ericsson received the Race Pilot – an advanced instrument developed for Formula One performance.
