Reminder - two lectures by GIH:s honorary doctors
At 9 a.m Bente Klarlund Pedersen´s lecture is "Exercise as Medicine in a translational perspective: focus on myokines." It describes how physical activity decreases the risk of a network of diseases, and exercise may be prescribed as medicine for lifestyle-related disorders such as type 2 diabetes, dementia, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
At 10.30 Richard Tinning´s lecture has the title "The centrality of pedagogy to the field of human movement studies". It is about how pedagogy can be thought of as the study of how knowledge is produced and reproduced. In the case of our field (Human Movement Studies/Sport Science) the knowledge is essentially about physical activity/exercise, the body and health.
