ShoreLink chooses Hogia for a new terminal system in Piteå
Hogia Logistics Solutions AB has signed a new contract with ShoreLink covering the introduction of Hogia’s terminal operating system at ShoreLink’s Haraholmen container terminal in Piteå. ShoreLink is investing in a more efficient logistics system in response to increased volumes. The introduction of the Hogia Terminal System suite is also expected to provide ShoreLink’s customers with new opportunities for improved service.
The new terminal operating system will be commissioned during the spring of 2015, and includes modules for reservations, yard planning, work orders, storage, gate, debiting and billing data.
“An efficient workflow is crucial, in particular in this type of unit-based container shipping with increased frequency and growing volumes. When we evaluated potential solutions, it became clear that Hogia had several well-functioning installations meeting needs similar to ours. It is also a terminal system that is flexible and can grow with need. Specifically, work with invoicing for example will take far less time since we can do it with automated flows and EDI instead of manual processing and handling of e-mails. And it’s obviously a great advantage that we now can offer our customers better tracking and reduced administration” says Nina Lidberg, marketing manager, ShoreLink.
“ShoreLink’s choice of the Hogia Terminal System suite is an important step and demonstrates the need to supply a standard system that works efficiently for different ports and terminals. A crucial success factor has also been Hogia’s knowledge and experience when it comes to integrations between our customers’ and their customers’ IT systems” says Martin Hogmalm, business area manager, Hogia Logistics Solutions.
The Hogia Terminal System suite in brief Hogia’s terminal operating system is a standard system that is continually upgraded and has a user-friendly interfaces. Its extensive functionality makes it a cost-effective end-to-end solution that supports a very large number of different terminal activities. The options for control and follow-up also makes it easy to introduce new, saleable services and enhanced service overall. The terminal operating system allows continuous, full control over each unit in the terminal and includes a web-based service desk.
