Press release -

TCR Europe in Belgium up next for the Bäckman siblings

Jessica and Andreas Bäckman are back in TCR Europe this weekend after a break of three weeks since the opening round in Paul Ricard, France. This time the series travels to Zolder, Belgium for the second round of the European series and the Bäckman siblings are looking forward to it.

This weekend, September 11th-13nd, Europe’s top drivers will compete at the Zolder track in Belgium, which is located close to Brussels, the capital of Belgium. The track is 4011 meters long and was newly paved and ready for this weekend’s races. The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) will also take place this weekend and starts their season in Zolder.

Jessica Bäckman showed in the last round that the speed is there as she had the fastest time of all 24 drivers in Q1, which followed up with bad luck in the races. This weekend she aims to continue the positive trend and show that the speed is there, and this time also show what she can do in this weekend's two races.

- It will be exciting to compete on the Zolder track as it is a new track for both me and Andreas since we have never competed there before. I feel ready for the weekend, after my fastest lap time in Q1 in Paul Ricard, I feel confident that the speed is there, now I aim to have two good races as well, says Jessica Bäckman.

Andreas Bäckman left Paul Ricard with the best results of the siblings when his best result was a fourth place in Race 2 after two tough races, this weekend he aims higher.

- The previous races in Paul Ricard was tough, but I feel that I have it in me and I look forward to coming back and race again this weekend. The track seems fun and has a great variety of corners, where I think the qualifying will be a key factor to succeed this weekend, says Andreas Bäckman.
