Welcome to Konstfack Degree Exhibition 2021! With the arrival of spring, we and 175 graduating students are celebrating this year at two locations – Konstfack and Konstnärshuset in Stockholm – with four unique events following the dates below. Erik Viklund's work is inspired by places and encounters with people and their destinies in these locations. Utilizing photography, he is interested in approaching the transient, but also how the transient is expressed in our lives in a purely physical way from one place to another; on a found piece of paper, a broken window or the torn down wallpaper in a house that has been deserted.

Head of Exhibitions Anne Klontz inaugurates the Degree Exhibition together with Matilda Ernkrans, Minister of Higher Education and Research, Vice-Chancellor Maria Lantz and the curators Emily Fahlén and Asrin Haidari. The graphic concept is presented along with performances for all to enjoy.
This year, the Degree Exhibition is curated by Emily Fahlén and Asrin Haidari whose method is to dig where they stand and, through dialogue with the surrounding context, understand the site's specific relationships, historical connections, conflicts and opportunities.
“Of course it hurts when buds burst. Otherwise why would spring hesitate? Why would all our fervent longing be bound in the frozen bitter haze? The bud was the casing all winter. What is this new thing, which consumes and bursts? Of course it hurts when buds burst, pain for that which grows and for that which envelops.” Welcome 17–27 May to 175 degree students showing that yes, it holds up!
With its 195 students from 28 nations, Konstfack's Degree Exhibition 2017 is the largest in the school's 173-year history. Consequently, this year there are more aspects of society's major challenges than ever, expressed in a lively and critical dialogue.
Solidarity, value and meaning is created jointly by 177 newly graduated visual arts teachers, master's and bachelor's students from 15 different programmes.
