Konstfack Research Lab – connecting with the unfamiliar at the Ethnographic Museum

The exhibition Renegotiating Material Culture is the result of a year long partnership between the Ethnographic Museum and Research Lab at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. The collaboration saw the students select works in the museum collections from Africa and the African diaspora which connected with their practices and helped inform and inspire the new works in the exhibition.

Entanglements is the result of a year long partnership between the Hallwyl Museum and Research Lab at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. Five contemporary artists working with craft have investigated the house, its archives and its histories and creating new works in response; Diana Butucariu, Mike Fedak, Caitlin Heffernan, María Renée Morales Lam and Harry Parr-Young.
