Yoko Andrén om sin utställning and i came from a nomad family
In mythology, folklore and fantasy fiction, shapeshifting, or metamorphosis is the ability of an entity to physically transform into another being or form. This is usually achieved through an inherent faculty of a mythological creature, divine intervention, or the use of magic spells or talismans.

The idea of shapeshifting has been present since antiquity and may be common in all cultures [citation needed]. It is present in the oldest forms of totemism and shamanism, as well as the oldest extant literature and epic poems, including works such as the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Iliad, where the shapeshifting is usually induced by the act of a deity. The idea persisted through the Middle Ages, where the agency causing shapeshifting is usually a sorcerer or witch, and into the modern period. It remains a common trope in modern fantasy, children's literature, and works of popular culture.

Professor Olav Westphalen om Andreas Fägerskiölds utställning
Up until the night of December 30, Andreas was working towards his graduation show with incredible energy and focus. It was obvious to everybody he spoke to during this time, that this exhibition was a major step for him as an artist and as an individual. Together with Lennart and Paul, as well as with Jan Matsson, who has been speaking to Andreas about his show frequently, and with Yoko Andrén, who is showing her exhibition alongside Andreas, we decided to mount the exhibition as best we can. It seems important that the work, into which he put so much energy, will be seen, not as a memorial, not as a selection made posthumously by others, but as the living, constantly growing work he wanted to show. Perhaps we can think of it as a faithful approximation, as a real sketch of the exhibition he would have realised.

Galleri Mejan
