A preview of Liseberg’s new dark ride on display in Paris
The dark ride Underland is Liseberg’s new big investment for the park’s children’s area and will open in spring 2020. This week, during the IAAPA Expo Europe trade show in Paris, the vehicle is for the first time being displayed for the industry to get a preview of the new rabbit themed dark ride.
The setting of Underland is the Liseberg rabbits’ world below ground. The vehicle, which will accommodate four persons and move at a speed of 4 km/h, will take passengers through the wonderful world of the rabbits, on rails.
“The most exciting fact about the vehicle, according to the rabbits anyway, is that it runs on carrot juice”, says David Schofield, Creative Director at Liseberg.
It is the Italian manufacturer Gosetto SRL that together with Liseberg and Quarry Fold Studio have made the vehicle and are displaying it in booth 1036 at the IAAPA Expo Europe trade show at Parc Des Expositions, 17-19th September. And it looks like it will be something extra:
“This is for sure something we never have done before and is not existing between all the other dark rides. It has been a real challenge since the beginning, something completely different, in all aspects: from the decorations applied on the railings to the very high complexity and many details of the fiberglass body that makes it unique.”, says Sergio Parolin, Technical Director at Gosetto SRL.
The first rides on Underland will take place in connection with Liseberg's spring premiere in 2020.
