Record year for online pharmacy MEDS, with over 160% growth and doubling of staff

Sweden’s fastest growing pharmacy, MEDS, wrapped up 2020 with a preliminary revenue of 222 MSEK (+162%!). The largest increase in sales is seen within the age group of 65+. The company is now moving to bigger premises near Stockholm city center, as well as announcing ambitious investments in logistics and product development. 

Pharmacy goods is the fastest growing e-commerce category, and MEDS is the fastest growing player in the industry. To meet the explosive increase in demand and enable continued rapid growth, MEDS has doubled its staff in 2020 and is now expanding its warehouse capacity for the third time in as many years.

- 2020 was a special year during which MEDS played a vital role as an alternative to physical pharmacies. Our employees have worked day and night, all days of the week, to offer our customers fast home deliveries of medications and pharmacy goods. Since our launch in 2018, we have sent over a million parcels to over 500,000 Swedish homes. Now we have reached a critical mass enabling us to scale up to an entirely new level for 2021 and beyond, says Björn Thorngren, CEO and co-founder of MEDS

To finance the expansion, MEDS has increased its capital with 167 MSEK from new and existing investors. The round was led by M2 Asset Management.

MEDS - The Mobile Pharmacy

At MEDS we believe that it should be easy and smooth, even wonderful, to do your pharmacy shopping. MEDS is an online pharmacy with a permit from the Medical Products Agency that focuses on the customer. Our goal is to become Sweden's favorite pharmacy for both prescription and over-the-counter medicines (and more) for yourself, your family and your pet.

We achieve this by offering the best customer experience with a very large range of products, personal counseling 08–22 every day of the week and lightning-fast deliveries directly to where you are - even late evenings and weekends. After MEDS 'launch in 2018, we have grown rapidly and now have around 140 employees
