Four reasons: how we manage to deliver nonwoven in a pandemic

There has been an extreme demand for nonwoven this year. At the same time, deliveries from China stopped abruptly, borders were closed and logistics became impossible. Despite this, we have managed to deliver all orders we have received from our customers. Our customers have been able to reap the rewards by choosing an external nonwoven specialist as a supplier. How have our customer have benefited? Let us explain.

Visitors to our website looking for nonwoven to produce medical supplies increased by a staggering 700 percent. Nonwoven is used in face masks that have been hotly sought after this corona year.

Demand increased extremely overnight while the supply of nonwoven was suddenly limited as a result of closed borders and as deliveries from China basically stopped. The price in China also hit the roof.

As a result, many industrial companies had challenges in supplying their production with nonwoven.

But in the midst of a challenging pandemic, we have still managed to deliver nonwoven to our customers. We have of course helped to provide healthcare companies with nonwovens, but have at the same time also been able to prioritize our existing customers. How?

1. Our network
   We have produced a lot of our nonwoven in China, but after many years in the industry, we have a worldwide network and contacts of nonwoven manufacturers. So, when production in China stopped, we were able to quickly switch. We switched to suppliers that were geographically closer. With our specialist competence, we can get started faster with new production sites and are incredibly sharp at qualifying skilled producers.
2. We are a local supplier with stock
   We already have some material of the shelves in stock. And many of our customers also choose to keep their nonwoven in stock with us. Since we primarily deliver to customers in Europe this means that lead times are short and hassle with deliveries is minimized when fewer closed borders need to be crossed.
3. We can convert large volumes
   Since we can rewind and slit large volumes of nonwoven in large rolls into formats that works in our customers' production, we are not limited by who we can buy nonwoven from. We can buy nonwovens from suppliers who only deliver large volumes on awkwardly large rolls in large formats. We then convert the material to tailor-made formats for our customers' production.
4. We can increase capacity
   We have the opportunity to expand our capacity - both on the warehouse side and on the production side. We have a scalable business model that allows us to easily switch up. Which we also did during this year to also provide new customers with materials.
