Award Winning Animation artist MARTA LAFUENTE To Exhibit In Must See Malmö Exhibition
Marta has an artist's spirit which is profoundly felt in her presence as a person & in her work. The energy found in her mixed media works, embracing both painting & photography, resonates joy, life, memory & motherhood. It was these subtle, yet powerful qualities which led us to invite her to join the Nordic Art Agency in 2017.
From 1999 with her first exhibition in Bologna until today, she has lived and worked in Bologna and Madrid, and she currently lives in Barcelona. She is a drawing teacher at the “Universitat de Belles Arts de Barcelona” where she also collaborates as the invited professor for MBA courses.
Since 1999 with the Güell Foundation Award she has obtained various distinctions and awards.
Her pictorial work has gone through several stages, developed largely with mixed techniques on cardboard, paper and wood. In 2003 she started a childhood self-portrait series for the Sala Parés Gallery in Barcelona, and her themes and landscapes have from that moment on, be related to memory.
In 2007 for her exhibition at Ignacio de Lassaletta Gallery in Barcelona, she started working with the concept of veils related to memory using layers of light marble dust, fabric collage, photography, coal graphite.
She is currently working with video installation and her recent videos installations have been selected for the “Berlin, Berlin, Berlin” exhibition at the Spanish Embassy and several International Animation Festival.
As well, part of Marta Lafuente’s production is set in the context of Art Foundations, a sphere in which she has permanent works installed in Banc de Sabadell, Vila Casas and Güell Foundations.
Her development as an artist has already seen several stages, working with mixed techniques on paperboard, paper or wood, animation and illustrating books published by Lumen & Random House.
Her work is consistent, beautifully executed & elegantly composed & the Nordic Art Agency are very proud and delighted to be representing Marta exclusively in the Nordics.
