SSG to launch safety training for office staff
After the summer, SSG will be launching a new safety training course suitable for everyone working in an office environment.
Many of SSG's customers have asked for a training course similar to the SSG Safety Ticket which is designed for staff who mainly work in an office environment.
– Some of the people in our target group also work in a production environment, but in a temporary capacity. This may involve other important issues to be aware of and bear in mind. This was why SSG put together a workgroup which is now working on devising this training course. The working name for this group is Office Safety Ticket, says Kristina Nilsson.
The aim of this training course is to help achieve a safe, secure work environment by enhancing skills in respect of safety and the work environment, mainly among companies' own office staff.
This training course aims to provide basic knowledge for office staff and a basic introduction for new staff.
– It must also create a collective understanding of values in respect of safety and the work environment and help to implement a pleasant, safe and secure work environment. Everyone should be able to leave work feeling good and not end up worn out, says Kristina Nilsson.
Companies working in accordance with the standard OHSAS 18001 also required this training course to provide support for this standard.
The new training course, which will be launched after the summer, will be part of SSG Academy.

The new training course will differ slightly from the more industry-related SSG Safety Ticket in that it will involve fewer industry-specific risks and more issues relating to factors such as ergonomics, stress, lighting and noise.
Mälarenergi poised to start
Daniel Granström, a work environment engineer with group responsibility for the work environment process at the group personnel HR function at Mälarenergi, is one of the members of the workgroup.
– This is a supplementary training course that we have been requesting for a long time. We previously used tutor-led training courses for almost 200 people prior to certification to OHSAS 18001, but now that the rest of the group is to be certified all officers within the company have to receive basic work environment training. So we have great expectations when it comes to the safety ticket for office staff. We are intending to allow the remaining 450 staff members to complete this training course, says Daniel Granström.
– When we constructed a completely new boiler between 2012 and 2014, we required all our contractors to complete SSG Entre," he continues. "From 1 June this year, contractors who will be readjusting the boilers will be required to have completed SSG Entre. Our office staff should also receive safety training, as a natural continuation of this work.
