Fares Fares to receive the Stockholm Achievement Award 2022

The well renowned Swedish actorFares Fares receives the Stockholm Achievement Award 2022 at the Stockholm International Film Festival. He will accept the Bronze Horse at the Nordic premiere of Boy from Heavenat Skandia Theatre on Wednesday, November 9.

The Stockholm Achievement Award 2022 is presented to an actor whose role sharp performances impress and whose charismatic personality in front of the camera always manages to capture the audience's hearts. He has a series of tough -skinned figures in his credits; but the broad smile, charm and twinkle in his eye is indicative of the careful nuance and integrity that he brings to his characters.As he steps behind the camera, we look forward to following the upcoming adventures of this talented actor. It is with great pleasure that we present the 2022 Stockholm Achievement Award to Fares Fares.

The highly acclaimed and Cannes-prized Boy from Heaven is this year's opening film at the StockholmFilm Festival and was recently selected as Sweden's international Academy Award entry. In the film, we see Fares Fares in the role of Ibrahim, one of his strongest acting performances so far. Fares Fares will receive the Bronze Horse during the gala screening and also holds a Face2Face at the festival.


Fares Fares has a solid film resume and have his credits include both Swedish and international productions. He had his breakthrough on the big screen back in 2000 with the film Jalla! Jalla! and has subsequently starred in several critically acclaimed films such as the comedy classic Kopps (2003), the action drama Easy Money(2010) and Easy Money II(2012).
During the 2010s, he has appeared in several international productions such as the American thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Rouge One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and the multiple award-winning TV series Chernobyl (2019).

Fares upcoming directorial debut with the Swedish Netflix film "A day and a half", in which he also stars as one of the main characters. Also starring in the main roles are Alexej Manvelov and Alma Pöysti. A day and a half premieres next year.

Stockholm Achievement Award is presented to an individual in honor and acknowledgment of their contribution to the world of film. Previous recipients of the award are, among others, Uma Thurman, Viggo Mortensen, Willem Dafoe and Ellen Burstyn. Last year's winner was the director and actorKenneth Branagh.The prestigious prize, the 7.3-kilogram Bronshästen (Bronze Horse) – the world's heaviest film prize – is a paraphrase of the Swedish Dalecarlian horse and was created by Swedish designer Fredrik Swärd.
