Presenting this year’s jury for the TV4 Rising Star Award – the recipient will receive an exclusive Kosta Boda figurine

Every year, one rapidly emerging talent in the film and tv industry is chosen as TV4 Rising Star. The nominees will be presented on October 8, but Stockholm International Film Festival are happy to announce who will be a part of this year’s jury – and that a brand new trophy figurine will be handed out to the winner.

The residing members of the jury are still jury president Simon Norrthon from the Scen och Film union, Lisa Rosengren from Film & TV-producenterna, and Jan Göransson, who is head of press at SFI. These veterans will be accompanied by actors Celie Sparre and Adam Lundgren, who both are previous recipients of the Rising Star Award.

Adam Lundgren had his breakthrough in 2012, in Jonas Gardells autobiographical story Don’t Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves, but became a household name in the hit series The Restaurant (2017-2020). Most recently, he has starred in the critically acclaimed series Whiskey on the Rocks (2024) and the creative horror film The Ugly Stepsister (2025).

Celie Sparre received the Rising Star Award in 2019, and since then she has starred in successful series like Alla Utom Vi (2021) and The Truth Will Out (2021). She was also nominated for a Kristallen award for her role in the series The Meaning of Life (2022).

–I’m a big fan of the Stockholm International Film Festival, it’s like a warm hug in the middle of fall! Rising Star Award does incredible work in highlighting new talents. To have received this honor has made me braver and still means much to me today! Because of this, I am very honored to now be a part of the jury with such competent colleagues, Celie Sparre says about her role in this year’s jury.

For this year’s Rising Star Award, both TV4 and Kosta Boda bring positive changes to the prize. Besides the honor, the winner will also receive the new figurine Isolde, designed by Markus Åkesson for Kosta Boda. Another development of the award is that during 2025, TV4 has become Official Streaming Partner to Stockholm International Film Festival.

–Actors in the right parts are vital in film and series, and we are therefore incredibly proud to be a part of celebrating the stars of tomorrow. The nominees for the TV4 Rising Star Award of 2025 will be revealed during the Stockholm International Film Festivals press conference on October 8 at 09.00, at Hotel Reisen.
