Stockholm International Film Festival presents Nikon Short Film Award 2022 winner Mira Hilfon Liungman
Earlier this summer, Stockholm International Film Festival kick-started a new short film award together with Nikon. The award is founded to encourage filmmakers all over Europe to use their creativity and imagination to create the best possible short film with a maximum length of 60 seconds. After receiving over 100 creative submissions, 6 nominees were selected. Now a winner has been chosen - Mira Hilfon Liungman.
Mira Hilfon Liungman takes home an incredibly artistic film award, a custom-made festival statuette by Kosta Boda's artist Markus Åkesson. Mira also receives a camera and lens of her choice from Nikon's award-winning Z Series mirrorless range. She will also be honored with an one-time tutoring lunch with Award Winning director Tarik Saleh (Boy from Heaven).
- I am really happy about the nice reception of my film. Expressing myself through film has always been one of my biggest driving forces. Film as a medium constantly reminds me of its powerful ability to influence, bring people into life, touch and enlighten, says Mira, 21 year old student from Malmö, Sweden.
The winning short film Trust (60 sec) will be shown at the festival on November 16th in connection with the Award Ceremony, but you can see it HERE
Jury's motivation:
We think that the film was touching and incredibly visual and that it wanted something without being pushy. We really want to see more of what Mira has to offer and therefore we have chosen her as the winner for Nikon Short Film Award 2022, says the Head of Jury Daniel Espinosa
The official jury for the competition consisted of Hollywood director Daniel Espinosa, actor Gizem Erdogan and artist and actor Alba August.
