  • Sweden and Norway enter a joint venture to advance tyre recycling

    Swedish Tyre Recycling and Norwegian Tyre Recycling are entering into a joint venture for the management of end-of-life tyres in both countries. All operational activities will be coordinated through Bon Orbit, a jointly owned company between the two parties.

    Alexandra Moreno was invited by Swedish Tyre Recycling to interpret tyre recycling through her artistic expression, as part of the art concept Art of Recycling. Moreno created a sculpture titled A Knot in Motion, made from granulate and granulate powder derived from recycled tyres.

  • When glass meets steel

    What happens when a glass sculptor blows glass with steel wires from end-of-life tyres? This innovative experiment was undertaken by glassblower Lisa Hartwig Ericson through the creative initiative Art of Recycling, a concept launched by Swedish Tyre Recycling that invites artists to interpret tyre recycling through their own artistic expression.

  • An Anniversary in Book Form

    Swedish Tyre Recycling was founded as an organisation in 1994, with operational collection beginning in January 1995. This means that tyre recycling in Sweden has now been in operation for 30 years—an anniversary we are celebrating in part by launching a special edition book. The book is a tribute to recycled tyre materials and a way to showcase the countless possibilities they offer.

    In October 2023, the world’s first research portal for recycled tyre rubber, named "End-of-Life Tyre Research Portal" (ELTRP), was launched. The research portal now contains 500 reports and will be updated continuously.
