Love theme and a real wedding at the Stockholm booth at TUR in Gothenburg

Love, love, love is the theme for Stockholm’s booth at the TUR Trade Fair in Gothenburg this year. There’ll be a press conference with Stefano Catenacci who will prepare the Crown Princess’s wedding dinner, a major event to promote coach companies, and a real wedding with arrangements that take place. Mr. GB (the ice cream man) and his fiancée will also be at the booth handing out free ice-cream to promote Min Stora Dag (My Big Day). Welcome to the Stockholm booth, F01:60 on level 2.

Roslag wedding at the Stockholm booth
A real Roslag wedding will take place at the Stockholm booth on Saturday, 27 March at 15.00 when Joakim Carlsson and Maria Rönnkvist say their vows at the Stockholm booth. TUR visitors are invited! See how the wedding plans evolve during the day and how the bride’s jewelry, hair, gown and flowers are arranged. Stockholm loves kids
Stockholm is the instigator of this year’s official Fair theme: My Big Day. During the public days, packages from all around the Trade Fair will be auctioned off to benefit seriously ill children. The auction will be held in our neighboring booth F01:22. Exhibitors in the Stockholm booth will donate two fabulous packages. Circus Cirkör will also perform and invite you to test your circus skills during the public days at the Stockholm booth in collaboration with My Big Day.

Stockholm heart coach companies
Stockholm was named the most coach-friendly city in 2009, not only in Sweden but in the world! The city will now hold two events to promote the coach industry. A presentation of Stockholm will be held at Busstorget on Thursday. The Stockholm booth invites you to a breakfast mingle hosted by Rica Hotels on Friday.

Östasiatiska loves the Terracotta Army and the “secret” rock gallery
New discoveries from China’s imperial terracotta armies are coming to Stockholm. Animals and soldiers will be displayed in the “secret” caverns under Östasiatiska on Skeppsholmen in a setting not unlike their original place of discovery. Stockholm City Museum loves Stieg Larsson and Lisbeth Salander
The celebrated Millennium tours that are a huge national and international success will continue during 2010. The tours begin at the home of Mikael Blomkvist on Bellmansgatan in one of Stockholm’s most picturesque places with fantastic views over Riddarfjärden, and finish at the Stockholm City Museum where props from the films are displayed. Hotel Hellsten, in Stockholm loves film and Kvikkjokk
Hotel Hellsten sponsors filmmaking in the Stockholm Region by donating one hundred rooms to international film producers, actors and directors who are involved in film production in the Stockholm Region. The free hotel rooms are part of the Stockholm-Mälardalen Film Region initiative that aims to make Stockholm one of the most film-friendly regions in Europe. Another initiative is the “Made in Stockholm-Mälardalen Card”―with discount offers to promote international film productions. Hotel Hellsten on Luntmakargatan in central Stockholm is one of the first businesses to accept the offer.
Per Hellsten will begin collaborating with the Swedish Tourist Association (STF) when Hotel Hellsten takes over STF Kvikkjokk Fjällstation. The hotel will own and run the mountain station, which will continue to operate as a youth hostel. “We have many international guests who want to try the ultimate wilderness experience. Kvikkjokk lies in the middle of the Swedish mountains just a few day’s trek from Sarek, the most exclusive national park in Europe,” says Per Hellsten.
