PHOTOS: J-League Coaches Host Football Clinic for Up-and-Coming Singaporean Youth Footballers
SINGAPORE, 12 December 2019 – Epson Singaporelast week successfully concluded an exclusive two-day football clinic for youths led by professional J-League coaches from Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club.
Co-organised with Geyland International Football Club (GIFC), the football clinic is a special reward for youth finalist teams from Epson’s annual youth football tournament, Epson Youth Challenge, held in August 2019.
Hosted at Our Tampines Hub, the football clinic was attended by over 50 youth players from ages eight to seventeen. The talented youths had the unique opportunity to be coached under the guidance of Shigeo Yamazaki, Academy Technical Director, Matsumoto Yamaga F.C., during which they learned a variety of technical drills and skills to develop their abilities as football players.
Munenori Ando, Regional Managing Director at Epson Singapore said, “By bringing both GIFC and Matsumoto Yamaga F.C. together, Epson is proud to deliver a meaningful and fun football session for youths in Singapore. Epson Youth Challenge is our commitment to providing a springboard for youths to grow and improve their footballing skills, and we hope that through this football clinic, we’re able to involve more youths to benefit from this once in a lifetime experience.”
Shigeo Yamazaki, Academy Technical Director, Matsumoto Yamaga F.C. shared, “I’m honoured to be part of this special football clinic in Singapore. It’s been a heartening experience for me to witness so many talented youths express their love for football. I hope that this session inspires them to become better players in the future.”
Ben Teng, Chairman of Geylang International Football Club said, “We’re very excited to run this football clinic alongside Epson Singapore and to provide youths in Singapore with an unforgettable experience. Together with Epson, we look forward to inspiring more youths in Singapore through football and we hope to organise more of sessions in the future.”
As part of Epson’s corporate social responsibility efforts, youths from Lakeside Family Services were also invited to take part in the football clinic.
