Going Beyond Wood ~ Accoya® in Asia

Accoya® wood has been on an increasing trend among residential and commercial property owners in Asia today. Originated from the Netherlands, Accoya® is the first natural timber product that has the most sustainable eco labels. Being treated by a natural wood preservation process known as acetylation, it gives the wood outstanding durability and a better stability, making it very suitable for outdoors.

Accoya® is also been tested and proven to be resistant against all weather condition, insects and fungi attacks. Therefore it is also recommended for much building and construction of architecture in tropical climatic countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and many parts of Southeast Asia.

Some of the renowned projects references of Accoya® in Asia, are McDonald's in China and Demansara Kuala Lumpur, Thailand's Best Western Hotel, Starbucks in China, La Colline Phuket, Shanghai Cruise Terminal and many others stunning wood architecture today.

In Singapore, we have seen the increase in demand for Accoya® among home owners usually on decking for their patio, planters, trellises and such.

"Accoya® re-introduces the beauty of natural wood in the veil of technology, home owners could enjoy sustainable wood decking at the comfort of homes with it. Soon, building and architects here (in Singapore) will also came to know more about Accoya® as well."

said Dennis Teo, Managing Director of Evorich Flooring Group.

Another benefit for Accoya® is probably its natural clean properties. It is non-toxic as nothing else is added to the wood. Moreover, Accoya® is a renewable wood material that is produced from a sustainable maufacturing process which is audited and awarded credible eco labels such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the MBDC'S Cradle to Cradle Gold Certficate.

Accoya® wood will soon become the next big thing among the young home owners and commercial property owners in Asia; providing quality outdoor and indoor aesthetic and sustainable woodwork to modern architecture in Asia.
