Innovating through the Times

Harvard Business Review’s recent article on China’s WeChat, titled “Secrets of Century-Old Kimberly-Clark: Giving Consumers the Softest and Most Gentle Experience”, takes readers on a journey of Kimberly-Clark’s continuous innovation and commitment to deliver the best essential products to consumers at different life stages.

Founded in 1872, Kimberly-Clark is intrinsically linked to household paper products, having pioneered the bathroom tissue on a roll (1890), feminine pads (1920), facial tissue (1924) and disposable training and youth pants (1989). In the author’s words, “by understanding the history of Kimberly-Clark, you will know the origins of household paper and its evolution over time.”

More than a century on, Kimberly-Clark continues to lead with innovation built on deep consumer understanding, from Huggies® platinum diapers that bring best-in-class care to Chinese babies, Depend adult diapers that improve the lives of patients with urinary incontinence, and Kotex that delivers innovative experiences to women.
