PitchMark IP Clinic #2: Contracts & licensing for Film & TV

Event date 9 June 2022 17:00 – 18:00

Location Zoom

We’ll delve this time into the world of contracts and licensing for international film and television. Have you written a script or a book that could be adapted for the screen? Wrote a song that has been used in an advertisement? Then this webinar is for you. Ask Michael Leow from Haldanes' Hong Kong office and PitchMark legal advisor Frank Rittman all your questions.

In this webinar, we'll be looking at how the traditional Hollywood studio approach to handling IP may have been tweaked for Asia.

They include:

  • Handling of chain of title and licensing or assigning those rights for exploitation.
  • Staff writers vs independent creators
  • Creation of new content vs adaptation/licensing/optioning of existing content
  • International vs local industry practices in the acquisition of Film/TV rights
  • Changing film/TV distribution patterns and the streaming factor
  • Terms and conditions imposed within contracts
  • Music rights and licensing

Date: June 9 17:00 - 18:00 SGT/PST (UTC+8)

It's free. Register here!

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
