Carl Vikingsson is a finalist in the CEO of the Year 2019 Recognition

On October 9, the Swedish leadership portal Motivation.se announced the finalists of Årets VD, the yearly recognition for the CEO of the Year. Carl Vikingsson, Sigma Technology Group CEO, is among five finalists in the category the CEO of the Year Large Companies. The winner will be announced in Stockholm on November 6.

The CEO of the Year (Årets VD) recognition aims to show role models among Sweden’s CEOs in order to promote value-based leadership and positive development of Swedish business. The organizer of the recognition is Sweden’s popular digital leadership platform Motivation.se.

The professional jury included Azita Shariati, CEO Sodexo, Charlotte Bohman, Chairperson of Hand in Hand, Elise Andström, Managing Partner at Boyden, Gunilla Herlitz, CEO at Miltton Labs, Meg Tivéus, renowned businessperson and Board Expert, Per Winblad, Editor-in-chief at Motivation.se, Staffan Hansén, CEO SPP, Stefan Granqvist, CEO at Interim Search, and Tony Grimaldi, CEO at Cycleurope AB & Vice President at Grimaldi Industri.

After a thorough examination, the jury selected five finalists in each category of the recognition – Small, Medium, Large companies, and the Young CEO of the Year. To be selected, the nominees needed to fulfill three criteria in leadership, sustainability, and profitability. The winner in each category will be announced during the Gala Ceremony at Hotel Six in Stockholm on November 6. This year’s ceremony is dedicated to the theme “Walk the Talk – it’s time to act now for a sustainable future.”

“It is a great honor to be among the finalists of Årets VD 2019 together with other prominent leaders in Sweden. The task of a CEO is to build a sustainable and profitable organization. Our organization's philosophy is ‘Local Drive. Global Strength’ that allows us to combine the power of a global company with a strong local presence and distributed responsibility. We have a clear focus in all the areas of our operations, including our sustainability and CSR involvement that was acknowledged with the Best Managed Companies 2019 recognition by Deloitte. It feels great that our effort is appreciated. I am thankful for the nomination,” says Carl Vikingsson.
