Sigma Industry West celebrates 10 years of success

Sigma Industry West, which delivers cutting-edge expertise in product development, has grown into a group of 7 companies engaging over 650 persons since its inception. Today, the company celebrates its 10th anniversary

In 2014, several new companies were launched within the Sigma Group to broaden the service offering. One of these was Sigma Industry West, which, exactly 10 years ago today, on February 1st, was founded with a focus on providing engineering services in product development. Right from the start, the ambition was to build a personal and entrepreneur-driven company with the advantages of being part of a larger group.

- 10 years later, we have managed to maintain the personal atmosphere and created a culture with a lot of warmth and energy. We have also preserved our flat organization, where the majority of the management team from the start is still present," says Jens Wickström, CEO of Sigma Industry West Group.

With a strong emphasis on its employees, Sigma Industry West has organized numerous trips and events over the years. Additionally, the company has embraced unique initiatives, including the formation of its own rock band and the operation of Sigma Truck, a food truck that not only serves delicious treats but has also proudly won the Employer Branding SM award!

Sigma Industry West Group achieved a turnover of 740 MSEK in 2023 and currently employs over 650 persons engaged in projects with global industry leaders across various sectors. The company is the preferred supplier to major product companies, receiving numerous quality awards over the years and gaining increased trust to manage larger customer projects in-house.

- I look back with great joy and pride at everything we have accomplished together in building up the company. It wouldn't have been possible without our fantastic employees, who are true stars! The majority of all the recruitments we have made over the years come from internal referrals, and I see that as a testament to the fact that people enjoy working with us, says Jens Wickström.

Several Subsidiaries
The strategy has been to establish new companies within different areas of expertise. Already in the year following its inception, 2015, Sigma Embedded Engineering was founded, focusing on embedded systems, connectivity, and software development. They have experienced significant growth over the years and currently have over 120 employees with operations in the USA and Egypt.

In 2016, the opportunity arose to acquire the Swedish part of Aker Solutions. The company changed its name to Sigma Energy & Marine and is today Sweden's largest marine engineering consultant with many international clients. It is also at the forefront of the process industry and strength calculation. Since 2018, the company has had a Norwegian subsidiary with offices in Oslo and Stavanger.

The latest addition to the SIW family is CREW by Sigma, delivering expertise beyond engineering areas, such as procurement, logistics, IT, finance, and HR.

We are creative and not afraid to try new things, which means we will continue to grow and develop our business.
