Press release -

Sigma IT is growing with Global Sourcing

Sigma IT is investing in growth and establishes Sigma Global Sourcing.

There is a big competence shortage on the Swedish market and the need for skilled resources within IT and Tech is very high. The competence report, from the organization Swedish IT and Telecom Industries, indicates a lack of 70 000 persons in the IT & Tech Industry until 2022.

As a large supplier of digital services Sigma IT needs to secure the right competence. To be able to meet the requirements from both their own business areas, as well as the customers’, Sigma IT is now expanding with the new business unit focusing on global sourcing.

Sigma Global Sourcing will be responsible for the whole onboarding process of international talents, helping and assisting all the departments within Sigma IT. This includes assisting both existing and new customers with the entire life cycle; from identifying talented resources from around the globe, visa application processing, housing, introductory course in Swedish and knowledge about Sweden. There will also be a Swedish mentor available for each talent to make the introduction to the Swedish working life as smooth as possible.

Sigma Global Sourcing is located in Gothenburg but will support on a national basis. Joseph Andersson is appointed as Business Unit Manager. Joseph lives in Sweden since 1987. He originates from South India and has dual citizenship. Joseph has run his own company for a few years and prior to that he has worked in leading positions for global companies in business development, strategic development, and sales within IT and engineering services in different industry segments.

Joseph has an impressive network in both India and Sweden, and he has helped Swedish companies with onsite/offshore assignments, business development and establishments in India and vice versa. Joseph also talks Tamil, one of the local languages in south India.

Joseph Andersson, Business Unit Manager, Sigma Global Sourcing, says:
– To put Sigma Global Sourcing on the map is a big milestone. The need of talented employees is huge, and we want to attract and create opportunities in Sweden for the best talents from all over the world. It is an exciting challenge and an equally fantastic journey to be part of the new business unit from the start. The local presence provides better opportunities to attract the best talents, but it is also important to create closeness to the customers in the region.

Henrik Larsson, Business Area Manager at Sigma IT, continues:
– We now take the next step in supporting our customers by expanding our business with global sourcing. With all offerings that Sigma has we can meet the customers in a unique way. We want to secure right competence and attract the best talents, not only from Sweden but from the whole world. Are you interested in working at Sigma IT or do you need help with specialists?
