Press release -
Sigma Technology partners with GS1 Sweden to accelerate the adoption of Digital Product Passports
Sigma Technology Solutions Group becomes the first company to join GS1 Sweden’s new partner program, which aims to accelerate the adoption of GS1 standards and create tangible business value for companies across the entire value chain.
Through this collaboration, Sigma Technology can further strengthen its ability to implement standards‑based solutions directly within customers’ existing IT environments, with a particular focus on Digital Product Passports and structured product information.
Companies in manufacturing, retail, and other industries are facing increasing demands for traceability, transparency, and accurate product data — not least due to upcoming EU regulations. GS1 Sweden is responsible for global standards that enable a shared digital business language for traceability and information exchange across value chains. The new partner program is aimed at companies that offer products, services, or solutions that facilitate the use of GS1 standards. The objective is to create more efficient, transparent, and reliable data exchange for the benefit of all stakeholders in the value chain.
Through this partnership, Sigma Technology Solutions Group aims to turn standards into functional, scalable solutions tailored to each organization, delivering direct value to customer organizations.
“We see the collaboration with GS1 Sweden as a strategic alliance. GS1 has deep expertise in the standards, and we have extensive hands‑on experience in translating them into practical solutions for Digital Product Passports. For us, this is not only about regulatory compliance, but about building new ways of working and future‑proofing organizations with reliable, standardized data as a foundation,” says Niklas Malmros, President at Sigma Technology Solutions Group.
As more companies and industries adopt solutions based on shared standards, the impact becomes increasingly clear, adds Jonatan Tullberg, CEO of GS1 Sweden:
“Over time, we have seen the effects in areas such as retail and healthcare, where organizations have achieved more efficient information management, greater trust in data, and higher levels of automation. With standardized solutions, these companies are also better equipped to manage new regulatory requirements and accelerate their work with AI. Through our partner program, we want to give all our customers the opportunity to create tangible business value and scale their implementations together with our partners.”
The partnership represents an important step in scaling the use of Digital Product Passports and creating long‑term value from standardized product data.
