Sustainable innovations the theme when the Swedish and Ukrainian tech scene meet in Stockholm

Sweden and Ukraine have had a close tech exchange for many years. To further cooperation between the countries, the Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum was founded by the Swedish Embassy in collaboration with the business community. On November 18, ministers, leaders of large export companies and tech startups will gather for the ninth year in a row in Stockholm.

The Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum aims to create opportunities for networking, business discussions and policy discussions. Swedish companies are today engaging thousands of Ukrainian developers working toward Sweden, ensuring access to sought-after, in-demand competence for Swedish companies.

During this year's Business Forum, the emphasis is on "Tech for good" – new forms of cooperation and technical solutions that support sustainable development within the framework of the global UN goals. On the agenda are technology development and purpose-driven innovation in areas such as sustainability, education, health, gender equality and global prosperity.

“Sweden is a pioneer country in sustainable development and social impact creation. We’ve been shedding light on its business culture in Ukraine since 2012 by arranging annual Sweden-Ukraine Business Forums,” says Tobias Thyberg, Sweden's Ambassador to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation and Vinnova, among others, are participating from the government sector. The business community is in turn represented by Sigma Software Group, Ericsson, Kry, Karma, Elonroad and Tre and more. At the end of the Forum, which are broadcasted live from Stockholm, 10 companies, selected by Antler, Nasdaq, Invest Stockholm, Sigma Software Labs and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, will have the opportunity to pitch their products to investors and audiences.

“Sweden always had a unique focus and angle on innovation and sustainability. With a highly skilled and open multinational approach it all resulted in a very dynamic and modern economy. Today, Sweden ranks as the most competitive, productive and globalized country in the world”, says Valery Krasovsky, CEO and Co-Founder of Sigma Software Group. “Ukraine, on the other hand, has a lot to learn from Sweden’s mature tech ecosystem. And we at Sigma Software Group are incredibly excited to foster this cooperation and build business bridges between our countries. I’m happy that our relationship is expanding in the right and healthy way. Not least because of activities such as the Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum.”

The Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum is organized by the Swedish Embassy in Sweden and Sigma Software Group, with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in Sweden, Ericsson Ukraine, Beetroot, Free Trade Europe and the Ukrainian Export Council.

Sweden Ukraine Business Forum takes place on November 18 at 13–17 in Stockholm at Epicenter. Participation is free and you can follow the conference both on site and digitally.
